The Zanzibar Bag is crafted in Cape Town, South Africa, where artisans spend hours weaving leather tubes into the macramé texture that defines its silhouette. It arrives structured and tactile, but over time, with use, with touch, with the weight of what you carry—it softens into something even more beautiful. A bag that evolves alongside you.

Call it the sandal of the season : The Kalahari was named for the peaks that emerge from the base of the sandal to pay homage to the Kalahari Desert . A sandy savanna in Southern Africa, covering much of Botswana and parts of Namibia and South Africa ✨

For years, fashion told us to choose — gold or silver. This season, we’re embracing both. Effortless, modern and a little unexpected, mixed metals bring a layered ease to dressing that feels less styled and more personal. Discover our new collection of mixed metal belts, designed to be worn with everything. ✨

She’s FINALLY HERE!!!
So many of you signed up to be notified when the Mini Burundi was launching which is so exciting and I couldn’t be more thrilled to add it to our site! When we showed this cutie at New York and Paris Fashion Week, it was a firm favorite, so rest assured you all have great taste!
With its sculptural gathered shape, I designed this bag to balance softness with structure through these carefully placed, slatted leather panels. It has a hand-knotted handle, woven around custom organic hardware links. It’s the kind of piece that feels really unique and special from the moment you carry it - but be warned! Everyone will want to touch and hold it!! It’s like taking out a puppy! 😂
I call this bag and the Tokai Clutch, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Bags because for whatever reason - they really do go with everything!
The first batch is limited, so you’ll need to act fast! Thank you as always!
With Love,
Anita xx

Our founder and creative director, has been wearing The Nairobi Sandal on repeat — with linen mini dresses, easy skirts, relaxed dark denim, and everything in between.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The delicate shape keeps it feeling effortless, while the signature gold pebble detail adds just enough novelty to make even the simplest look feel considered. It’s the kind of sandal that quietly becomes part of your everyday summer uniform.

This January, our founder Anita Patrickson welcomed friends to her home just outside Cape Town for a traditional South African braai — an evening recently featured in the New York Times. For Anita, it was incredibly special to share a piece of the culture and rhythm that continues to inspire AMANU.

“It’s fun because it’s outdoors and everyone’s cooking together in the sunshine, jumping in and out of the ocean,”she shared with the Times.

The evening reflected everything we love most — relaxed gatherings, meaningful details, and pieces designed to be lived in. Bone, wood, and brass elements placed along the table echoed the same handcrafted materials found throughout our belts, bags, and sandals. Nothing overly styled. Just beautiful people, good food, and the kind of ease that always feels like home. Thank you for giving & I the best excuse to gather some of very favorite, most inspiring friends and bring them into my home in Cape Town for an evening to celebrate them… South African talent. Every guest was hand picked. They’re the people I look up to both professionally and personally. They love Africa deeply and that we got to shoot it for The New York Times - a publication I hold in such high esteem made it so incredibly special (and a little surreal!). Thank you for making it happen 😘 & for pulling it all together. To a creative wizard and tablescaping genius using our Amanu hardware as the decor. for the incredible custom hand painted tablecloth! My beautiful & Hicky for the amazing wine and love, for the unbelievable food and to my glorious friends who came and celebrated! love you guys so much! ❤️ interview by Photos by
