In a rescue home, even the smallest cat can make an opinion feel like a formal announcement. Usually while you're trying to clean something. ☕🐾

That familiar energy inspired October 28's Groovy Midweek Reset at The Dane Lounge.

A grey tabby handles the saxophone, a heeler takes the trumpet, and an orange kitten bobs along from a speaker with the confidence of a very experienced music critic.

Our Great Dane barista keeps wiping the counter. We suspect he has opinions too.

Put on some upbeat instrumental swing jazz, settle in with your pets, and enjoy a retro coffee shop where everybody has personality and very few customers seem ready to leave.

Find Sax, Sass & a Tiny Critic in the Groovy Midweek Reset | The Dane Lounge playlist. Subscribe for weekly jazz and suspicious cat behavior.

What would your pet put in their review of your housekeeping?

Our fictional lounge is inspired by real rescue-home moments. Every purchase from Desert Dane Designs supports lifelong rescue residents and rescue efforts across the Valley.

The Tracks Stop at the River. The Dogs Have Concerns. 🌙🐾

Yesterday's freight-room mystery has led our two extremely unofficial investigators down to the riverbank.

The heeler is inspecting tracks in the mud. The Great Dane is watching the old railroad bridge. Neither one thought to bring a towel.

Ghost Town Radio is LIVE October 27, 2026, with instrumental dark country, Western noir, and a fictional Arizona setting inspired by Fairbank and the San Pedro River corridor.

Put it on while you write, tackle the evening chores, or sit down with whichever pet has generously left you six inches of couch.

What's your theory about those tracks?

For the Original Three Heathens 🧡
Some animals come into your life and change everything.

Others become the reason you keep going.

For us, that will always be our original three heathens. 🐾

We miss them. Every single day.

We miss their personalities, their routines, their ridiculous little habits, and all the things that made them who they were.

They helped shape the home we have today. A home where discarded, forgotten, aging, and unwanted animals get something they should have had all along.

Safety. Family. And a place to belong for the rest of their lives.

The house is still full of personalities and questionable decisions. Cats still argue with management. Dogs still believe they run the place. Someone is always demanding dinner.

And we keep moving forward.

Not because we have forgotten those who came before, but because we haven't.

As we approach October 27, a day many families choose to remember their departed animal companions, we're taking a moment to honor the original heathens and every little soul who has left paw prints on our lives.

Our newest Feral Dispatch is about grief, gratitude, remembrance, and the love that continues long after goodbye.

The Ticket Nobody Issued

Our rescue pets have never needed an invitation to inspect something interesting. They also have very strong opinions when a request goes unanswered.

Their Ghost Town Radio counterparts have now taken those skills into an old ticket office.

The Great Dane is keeping watch by the doorway. The heeler mix has found a ticket on the counter and appears ready to conduct the entire customer service interaction himself.

The station has no staff. The complaints department has pointy ears.

Join The Dane Lounge for The Last Train, Chapter 2, with dark country instrumentals, Western noir guitar, and the next clue in our fictional Arizona railroad mystery.

Sunday Brunch Jazz for Dogs & Cats | The Kittens Started a Brunch Dance Party

We planned a peaceful Sunday brunch.

The kittens had other plans.

This week at The Dane Lounge, we're relaxing in Oro Valley north of Tucson with upbeat swing jazz, breakfast margaritas, rolled tacos, guacamole, dogs, cats, and two kittens who have completely surrendered to the rhythm.

The grey tabby and black kitten start bobbing along with the music.

Then the grey kitten decides brunch requires significantly more bouncing.

The Great Dane is watching.

The orange tabby and calico are enjoying the table.

The red heeler and cat drummer just keep playing.

Honestly, they're encouraging this. 😂🎷

Come spend Sunday with us for lively swing jazz, Arizona sunshine, dogs, cats, and cozy chaos.

The Parcel Nobody Claimed

If you share your home with rescue pets, you know a new parcel rarely reaches its destination without a thorough inspection.

Our two Ghost Town Radio dogs have now brought that household skill to an old railroad depot.

The Great Dane watches the tracks. The smaller heeler mix has found a parcel beneath a glowing lantern and would like everyone to stand back while the sniff department gets to work.

Welcome to The Last Train, Chapter 1.

Join The Dane Lounge for dark country instrumentals, Western noir guitar, and the first clue in a new fictional Arizona railroad mystery.

The Town Woke Up at Midnight

Our rescue pets have strong opinions about visitors. Naturally, their Ghost Town Radio counterparts have now encountered a welcome committee that glows in the dark.

Episode 6 brings the dogs back to Main Street, where the lanterns shine, the saloon windows glow, and an empty rocking chair appears to have its own plans.

Then the four-legged midnight crew arrives.

Some brought cowboy hats. Nobody thought to tell the dogs about the dress code.

Join The Dane Lounge for dark country instrumentals, Western noir guitar, and a warm, whimsical Arizona-inspired ghost story beneath the stars.
