Day 20 and 21: Saturday started off with popovers for breakfast and finished with sugar pie for supper, with cousins, friends, neice and family in between! Hardly a moment for a nap! I helped Liliane with her “square” for her shop, something I have never used. It was Cliff and my 44th wedding anniversary as well, so wedid get to chat for a bit. Sunday’s alarm rang at 5, first time I’ve used the alarm since coming to Tennessee. We met Cliff in London Kentucky, and had breakfast at the Cracker Barrel restaurant. We broke up the rest of the trip home with a stop at Dairy Queen. It was great to be away, but nice to be home. Lance is quite content to be home snuggled in his blanket.

Day 19: packing up day, and cleaning the apartment with all the threads on the floor. I finished my travel ruler bag, Liliane’s bowl cozies, snd gathered up some lavender to take with me. A couple of pictures showing the curving steps John built, an interesting shed wall I’d like to paint, Lance, of course, me at my sewing table in the apartment , and my soup for supper. I bought some creamed honey at the farm store, so my dessert tonight was saltines with honey! So good! And a picture of the sunset last night. Every night has been a beautiful picture in the sky.

Day 18: less days of fun and joy in Tennessee, but we fill each day as it comes. This morning Liliane and I delivered flowers to a community store for farmers to desk their products, Farm South. We bought bread and creamed honey, something I haven’t enjoyed for a long time. Hobby Lobby was visited again! We always need something for the shop. John took us out to lunch at A Taste of Bangkok, some leftovers for supper. And then it was time to wash our dyeing. We still have some rusty nails to uncover, but we made a temporary clothesline to dry them. The pink with the avocado didn’t stay as dark as we had hoped, but we saved the dye for another time. We picked some hydrangeas that are so beautiful. I’ve also included the pictures of the sky last night.

Day 17: my day started with finishing my sand filled, lavender heart, frogs! They have been so fun. They are door stoppers but look great on a shelf. FROG: Fully Rely On God! Then on to fabric dyeing. The avocado liquid is quite red, the hydrangea water was more greenish. Shall see the fabric result tomorrow. The flower had 2 moths on it like they were having dinner together, then one flew away. I also finished a third door bow. The top row has the bows the same, I hung them so you could see the other side.

Day 16: a fun day, we didn’t have to go to town! I finished another table topper using the left over curtain fabric. Liliane picked flowers for this evening, she had a friend come over to make bouquets. See the frog on the table? Also made with leftover fabric. We started dying some fabric with avocado skins and pits, also tea dying with rusty nails. Shall see how it turns out. There may be a new quilt in the making! I learned how to use the blocking method to plant seeds. Also Liliane was making miniature arrangements with these sweet bottles. Now to finish some more frogs, they have a fabric heart filled with lavender.

Day 15: so excited that I got to extend my trip another week. Liliane and I went shopping today. She wanted to visit Trader Joe’s to see if they had greenery to add to her flower arrangements. They do and we filled up a bucket! Hobby Lobby has become my favorite store! We bought buttons for the frog’s eyes which will become doorstops or frog sitters. More of that tomorrow. I am filling them with sand which John has in abundance, but it is damp in the big bags, so I’ve spread it out on pans in the greenhouse to dry it out. Of course we had to stop for lunch at a Falafel restaurant, although my food was on the semi spicy side. By the time we got home it was time for a nap, although I decided to return calls and text message for work next week, which I shall think about another day. Lance got a toothbrush tonight and decided I couldn’t have any.

Day 14: woke up this morning with a call from John to hurry outside. There was a bald eagle circling the farm and then landed in a tall tree. He was magnificent! This is a picture I copied but was exactly what we saw. I made sure Lance stayed close! Lance and I checked the dahlia beds for weeds then John let me use the lawnmower to cut the orchard, I could have bailed hay since we neglected cutting it last week. All was well until I lost a back wheel in a hole and had to get John to give me a push out. More cutting around the flowers since customers were coming tonight to pick flowers. John took over the front lawns and the it was after 2 so John took us out to a Mexican restaurant which was delicious! Then it was time for people to come, maybe 15 all together and they made beautiful choices, and they couldn’t help that because the flowers are all beautiful. Lance is barely awake now as he had to make sure he greeted all the flower pickers.

Day 13 in Tennessee: since it was Sabbath, we decided to spend it on the farm. French toast with strawberries and maple syrup for breakfast. Potatoes, veggie roast, peas and corn for lunch, and caramel popcorn for supper. John was our chef. Such a restful day with visits from our friend Ken, and cousin Bruce and his wife Connie. It was nice to chill for awhile.

Day 12 was a quiet day as John and Liliane had doctors appointments in town. Lance and I vacuumed the apartment, swept a walk, washed sheets and clothes and took a nap. Using the leftover curtain fabric I made Liliane a Dresden plate table topper for a shop table. More pictures of dahlias . Vespers at Little Creek and the home to bed.
