Our library quilting group has been busy and we are ready to pack "bags and of love" again. These bags goes to distressed and needy kids. We are in need of stuffed toys to include in the bags. Can you help? If so, you can drop them off at Violet's Sewing Room or the Main Street Barbershop. Thank you.

Today was fun! My library quilters came to my house, we packed 30 bags of love to give to foster kids, played with a quilt in the longarm quilting machine, enjoyed an amazing lunch from girls who can cook and quilt, crafted a sparkly seam ripper, enjoyed a piano solo from Beth, and found new friends. If you would like to join this amazing group who are learning how to quilt and are making quilts for kids in need, let me know. We are always looking to create the next excited quilter. We will meet in the Ripley library the first 3 Thursdays of December, 10-1.

Thanks to all my helpers for our week of creating Angel gowns. We sewed 29 gowns and 2 pouches. They turned out so beautiful and I know the families who receive them will be blessed. In the spring we will be taking another week to create more.

Wedding dresses to Angel Gowns. Special event at Violet's Sewing Room, November 3-7 (Monday through Friday) 9-4. These small dresses, for baby girls and boys, will be given to families that have lost babies, as a comfort for their loss. I have a few wedding dresses to use for this project. These are possible stages in creating these garments: deconstructing, cutting patterns, pinning, sewing and embelishing. So there is a job for everyone. Come and stay all day or a few hours. Everyone is welcome to help in this ministry.

Our quilt guild "Knot Just Thread" meets every 3rd Thursday at the Ravenswood library from 5-7. So I don't overload our library class of "It's My Very Own", we will skip that day, and meet the 1sr, 2nd, and 4th Thursdays of the month. Tomorrow we will be working on our second leaf block.

We are looking for sewers to help with a mission project “It’s My Very Own”, we are making quilts for displaced kids of all ages in Jackson County and other surrounding counties. We meet every Thursday at the Ripley library from 10 to 1. Just a beginner? We like you, you don’t have any bad habits! No pressure to sew fast, we have fun and learn new sewing tips as we make and design quilts. We have lots of room for you. We started a new 12 block project today I’m calling “Trees and Leaves”.
