Fit is about more than whether a garment looks good on a model.

There’s a lot that goes into getting a garment to fit the way it was intended. From fabric selection and pattern construction to sizing strategy, technical specifications, and multiple rounds of revisions, every decision can impact the final product.

Even a small adjustment can create changes somewhere else in the garment, which is why fit development requires both technical expertise and a strong understanding of how all the pieces work together.

The good news? Identifying potential issues early can help brands avoid unnecessary revisions, delays, and costly mistakes later in the process.

We’re excited to welcome Erin, our new Account Executive, to the Stars team!

Erin joins us with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and experience as an Assistant Buyer specializing in women’s tops and dresses across juniors and crossover age groups. Her merchandising background brings a valuable perspective to her new role and to the work we do across the apparel industry.

Outside of work, Erin loves exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, discovering more of the St. Louis area, and reading. Her current favorite book is Daisy Jones & The Six.

Fun fact about Erin: She had the opportunity to volunteer at a New York Fashion Week show in 2024!

Meet our Employee of the Month, Claire Thomas-Morgan!

As our Product and Development Manager, Claire is truly the glue that holds it all together. Hardworking does not even begin to describe her, and her dedication, organization, and incredible attention to detail help keep everything running smoothly from one project to the next.

Claire has a remarkable ability to keep track of all the moving pieces while making sure nothing falls through the cracks. She approaches every challenge with focus and determination, always finding a way to keep things moving forward.

What makes Claire even more special is the way she shows up for the people around her. She is the kind of manager who will pause whatever she is doing when she sees someone needs a helping hand. Whether it is answering a question, solving a problem, or simply making time for someone, Claire is always willing to step in and support her team.

Her dedication, reliability, and genuine care for the people around her make such an impact on Stars Design Group. We are incredibly grateful for everything Claire does and so lucky to have her as part of our team.

Summer internship recap!

We just wrapped up our summer internship with five amazing interns, and we’re so grateful to have had them with us!

Throughout the summer, they got hands-on experience across account management, product development, technical design, 3D design, and marketing. Every Thursday, we also hosted a Lunch & Learn covering topics like product development and fabrics, a conversation with trims brand YKK (YKK (U.S.A.) Inc.), designer Michael Drummond (Michael Drummond) and a visit to the Missouri Historical Society (Library & Research Center)

To finish out the summer, the interns presented their group project: a mock new brand client that took them through the apparel process from start to finish, including intro meetings, branding, product design, tech packs, fabric sourcing, and costing.

We’re incredibly proud of the work they put in and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next as they head back to school!
