If you don’t know Ashley, she’s my best friend—and recently, she gave us all the absolute scare of our lives. ❤️
Ashley has Marfan syndrome, a genetic connective tissue disorder that can affect the body’s blood vessels, heart, bones, and joints. One of the most serious complications is weakness of the aorta, which can lead to an aortic dissection. That’s exactly what happened to Ashley. She was unexpectedly flown to the U of M, where she underwent emergency open-heart surgery.
She has a long road of recovery ahead and will be out of work for the next couple of months as she heals. ❤️🩹

Today we share another special fundraiser with you… Ashley Veen, a single mom of two who had to undergo emergency heart surgery last week.
