Milk is the first nourishment. The first language the body understands. Safety. Scent. Skin. Milk is more than food. It is information. It carries antibodies, hormones, nervous system signals. The body turning love into substance.

Marrow is what lies deep within the bone. Ancient. Hidden. Vital. The place where blood is formed. Where life renews itself in the dark. It is sacred nourishment. Given to growing children, healing mothers, the weak, the recovering. It symbolized strength, inheritance, continuity. The essence inside the structure.

Welcome to Milk & Marrow. Here we explore the conditions humans evolved to thrive in: sunlight as the master clock that calibrates hormones and immunity, breastmilk as a living system that helps build the microbiome, fever as an ancient defense program, co-sleeping and maternal proximity as biological regulation, barefoot childhood and movement as architects of the developing brain, birth as a physiological process guided by reflex rather than force, nutrient-dense animal foods and raw dairy as foundational building materials, and the understanding that when the ancestral village is absent, we can create one.

For babies raised slowly 🌊

I found a traditional artisan along the Baltic coast of Lithuania who makes these pieces by hand for babies and children, using methods passed down through generations.

Made with raw, authentic Baltic sea amber and natural aquamarine; warm resin and cool mineral, sun and sea held together in something small enough to rest against their skin.

I’ve been wanting to bring a few in for my own children, and I’m opening it up to see who else feels drawn to them. This will be a small, curated pre-order batch only.

Baltic amber is ancient tree resin, formed in prehistoric forests over 40-60 million years ago, long before our landscapes existed as they are now. Those forests are gone, but what they left behind still rises to the surface. After storms, amber is released from the seabed and carried ashore by the Baltic tides. Gathered by hand, just as it has been for centuries. It has moved through time this way, from forest, to sea, to shore, to skin.

Across Northern and Eastern Europe, amber has been worn by infants and young children for generations as part of daily care. Something mothers reached for instinctively, passed down, without needing to explain it. There’s a continuity in that.
