Worktones Worktones is a design studio for hospitality wares that work hard and look good for those serving up our favourite food, drinks and good times.

We’re a specialist brand making aprons, merchandise, and bespoke uniforms using quality fabrics, skilled makers, and doing our best to always be fair, responsible, and informed. Drawing inspiration from workwear, we design and make product of purpose that’s both functional and comfortable. We value simple, timeless design using only natural fabrics.

We pulled aside Chef Ben Wallace of the lauded Port Douglas Thai restaurant Jungle Fowl for a chat before service.

We’re always encouraging more breaks but especially so in Tropical North Queensland. Ben said ‘native Negroni’ and we went straight into a reservation.

The Patch is our second iteration of the Chambray Shirt. The shape has had some small, simple tweaks to make the fit more universal. The fabric is softer to the hand feel and lighter in weight. We worked on reducing shrinakge and focussed on longevity so it only betters with age.

We were on snack duty and sugar hits for the chefs at the Taste Port Douglas Food & Drink Festival Long Lunch. For all the gourmet food they were serving, a Cherry Ripe and pack of BBQ Shapes hit pretty well.

Break time with Erik Shane Ortolani, executive chef at Itō Restaurant • Sydney / ESCA Group • Sydney Hospitality. Erik’s not the type of chef that avoids the kitchen when off the clock (he even cooks for his dog), so he well and truly deserved to take a seat for un momento.
