Always such an honour for someone to trust you with working on their wedding dress ( even if their sister makes all your silver jewellery) and this dress was gorgeous I had to have several practice runs at rolled hems and french tacks still I think my old needlework teacher might be impressed 😊
A French tack is a loose, hidden thread connection that joins a garment's outer fabric
to a free-hanging lining. It acts as a flexible bridge, usually 1 to 3 centimeters long, allowing the two layers to move independently while preventing the lining from shifting, twisting, or pulling out. You used to see them all the time on garments but now probably only on wedding, bridesmaid and evening dresses
Just about delivered on time before being hit by a week in hospital with a ruptured appendix and threat of a gall bladder removal 🥴
