The other day in class, we were talking about how incredibly critical we can be of the things we make. I mentioned that when you buy something from a shop, most people don't turn it inside out and inspect every stitch.
Take this bridesmaid dress, for example. The stitching doesn't line up perfectly, it's not especially neat or tidy, and yet nobody noticed. The dress looked beautiful, and that's what people saw.
It's a good reminder that we often focus on every tiny flaw in our own work, while everyone else sees the finished piece as a whole. Chances are, your sewing is much better than you think it is. ❤️🧵
