I bet I am not the only one who has looked up one day and realized “I don’t know where I am”. Lost….Sad….Disengaged….wondering, am I depressed, lonely or giving up and copping out.
Midlife, aging, loss-even growth and maturity can move us to an unfamiliar space. Nothing works like it used to.
Wisdom and experience teach us the futility of our youthful struggles.
You know…we didn’t get to see Jesus age in scripture. We saw Him Grow, LIVE and die and LIVE again. But, not age.
But God refers to Himself as the Ancient of Days… there from the beginning, still here forever. Permanence. Not fleeting youthfulness, not decay that marks an end but permanence.

There is power in the ability to “remain”. I want to learn from my “unchanging” Father. I want to allow the peace of wisdom to mark a beginning.
“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.”

Maybe this season isn’t just about grieving the loss of what used to be but about exploring the possibilities of what is still to come.
