As much as we love the unexpected treasures we sort through when you pass on your unused textile supplies to us, we won't be able to accept any new donations throughout the duration of our pop-up shop in the Packhorse Centre.

We just don't have the storage capacity at the moment in our current temporary home!

We're really hoping we'll have a more long-term solution in the near future. At which time, we'd be able to resume accepting donations of fabric and haberdashery items once again.

We'll be opening up our doors to the pop-up Fabric & Haberdashery Reuse Shop one week today!

Join us next Thursday 3rd September from 10.30-3.30pm for the first day open at our new location for Sustainable Fashion September 2026 💚

We're located inside Makerworld in the Packhorse Shopping Centre (where Argos/Peters used to be!) in Huddersfield.

We've nearly filled all our shelves with an amazing array of fabrics, yarn, patterns, threads, buttons and MORE! It's such a treasure trove of textile goodness. We took the vinyls off our window yesterday. So you'll be able to get a peek through if you're passing by soon.

The Sustainable Fashion Week 2026 national programme launched today!

We're so excited to be returning for the third year as the Huddersfield Hub. With an ambitious programme, thanks to funding from One Community Foundation, we have programmed an entire month of activity for project: Sustainable Fashion September.

We are 1 of 41 hubs around the UK and 1 of 7 northern England locations along with Bradford, Cumbria, Doncaster, Manchester, Wigan & the Wirral.

As part of our Sustainable Fashion September programme, our Stitch Socials will have a special focus on mending next month 🪡

Here's the dates for your diary:

🧵Sew Q***r - Tuesday 15th September, 6-8pm at Hive Huddersfield CIC
🧵Huddersfield Social - Thursday 17th September 5.40-7.40pm at Makerworld

For these socials, we'll be focusing on mending, so bring a
textile item in need of repair. You're also welcome to bringyour own crafts. This isn't a fully taught session, but there'llbe resources and materials available to help mend things!

🧵Craftivism Social - Tuesday 29th September, 6-8pm at Hive Huddersfield CIC

In keeping with Sustainable Fashion Week's 2026 theme of 'Threads of Resistance', we'll be stitching messages of resistance usingrecycled materials to make wearable patches.

In collaboration with Electric Theatre Cinema, we bring you the 2022 documentary: Fashion Reimagined.

The film follows Amy Powney, a daughter of environmental activists, during her trajectory from outsider to industry leader as she sets out to create a fashion collection that's ethical and sustainable at every level.

Doors will open at 6pm, with bar provided by Zapato Brewing. Film starts at 7.20pm, finishing at 9pm.

Only two weeks now until our pop-up Fabric & Haberdashery Reuse Shop opens at Makerworld (Packhorse Shopping Centre) on Thursday 3rd September at 10.30am!

The team were busy setting up all the shelving and displays yesterday (swipe to see!), ready to get stock unpacked next week. There are two sections of the shop - one through the door to the right of the entrance (you'll be able to see us through the window next week once we take the window vinyl down!), which will have fabrics, yarn and patterns. And also a section right at the back of the Makerworld space with all our haberdashery stock.

We'll be open Thursday - Saturday 10.30-3.30pm throughout Sustainable Fashion September.

We're excited to be bringing our family friendly GLOW UP: Upcycled High Vis workshop to Greenhead Park this Saturday 22 August, 10.30am - 3.00pm.

Free, drop in workshop. Come find us in the community room!

Event delivered by Environmental Projects In Kirklees and partners for Walk Wheel Ride Kirklees

There are free activities for all at an exciting Go Active day in Greenhead Park this Saturday! The meeting point is the Walk Wheel Ride stand by the basketball courts.

You'll find bike-related activities for all ages and abilities - plus a workshop in the Greenhead Park community room where children can create high vis badges to put on their jackets or bags to increase visibility when walking or cycling.

All events are free but some need to be booked in advance.

Upcycle It! with Kim Searle Darn It Workshops and Julia Roebuck Upcycle Fashion - Sunday 13th September, 10.30-1pm

Bring in an item of clothing you love in need of a refresh and we'll alter it with upcycling techniques, lino printing and tie dyeing.
