Today I'm thinking about my time spent in India - a sheer delight for the senses, even though I was allergic to ghee!

In my opinion, not much can beat the beauty of Indian fabric, and this served as a big inspiration for my own brand, POWAH.

The fashion industry has a huge problem. Brands are over-producing garments to the point where demand cannot keep up, despite tactics used to trick and pressure us into buying more, buying faster.

Much of the excess ends up in landfill, a drain on natural resources, to be appreciated by no-one.

We're doing things differently.

When we launch, we will produce in very limited quantities. Not only will you own something special, but that no garments will go to waste.

Each step of our process is focused on the true luxury of feeling good against your skin, without harming the environment.

Before POWAH became fabric, lace or silhouette, it began with symbolism.

Our hand-drawn peony was created as more than artwork. For us, it represents softness and strength, beauty and depth, heritage and self-expression.

Every line began by 's hand, because the details matter.

POWAH started somewhere deeply personal for me.

For a big part of my life I was surrounded by incredible fabrics, embellishment, colour, craftsmanship...through my heritage and my friendships at school, life was so exotic. There was so much glamour in that world, so much to be admired.

As I got older, I wanted lingerie that felt sensual, sophisticated and confident, without feeling overly girly or covered up and frumpy. But I was bored of generic high street designs.

That’s where POWAH began.

It started with the idea of giving exceptional fabrics a second life, and grew into something bigger. A brand rooted in heritage, travel, self expression and confidence.

I’m building POWAH for women like me. Women who have lived, travelled, evolved, and still want to feel powerful in every part of their lives.
